Y7&8 Interschool Sports

The Y7&8 interschool sports games started today with rugby and netball games against Eltham School. A number of Y6 pupils have been selected to play in the rugby team. Congratulations Carter and Salvador.

Production Dress Rehearsal

The production dress rehearsal was a huge success today and we're all excited about the performances next week!

Cross Country Training

Room 9 are training hard for the cross country event being held in week 6. We've been trying to run 1.6km each day around the field as well as going up and down the grueling steps towards Wairau Road. We're recording our times and distances to see if we can make improvements. Next week we're going to set ourselves some goals.

If I Were In Charge of the World - Poetry writing.

Room 9 read a poem written by Judith Viorst. We talked about the things we inferred (concluded) about the author by what was written. We thought that she must be short, liked basketball, disliked oatmeal, was allergic to something, had a sister that annoyed her, loved 007 movies and much more. You can hear the poem by Judith Viorst by clicking here. We then wrote our own poems. You can read two below.

If I Were In Charge Of The World - by Theo.C

If I were in charge of the world
I'd cancel pollution,
Wars,
Spiders and also bullying.
If I were in charge of the world
There'd be no drugs,
Healthier food and more sun.

If I were in charge of the world
You wouldn't have bruised thumbs,
You wouldn't have Brussels sprouts,
You wouldn't have lonely,
Or "No more outside,"
You wouldn't even have bubble gum.

If I were in charge of the world
A chocolate would be a vegetable,
All in-game purchases would be free,
And a person who sometimes forgot to brush,
And sometimes forgot to wash their hands,
Would still be allowed to b
In charge of the world.

If I were to change the world - Robbie

If I were in charge of the world
I'd cancel asparagus,
Kumara,
going to bed, and also horse riding.
If I were in charge of the world,
There'd be only 3 days of school,
Healthier animals,and
Infinite wishes that come true.
If I were in charge of the world,
You wouldn't have to do the dishes,
You wouldn't have to do training to get really fast or good at sport,
You wouldn't have to buy things they could just appear in front of you,
Or there would be no such thing as"It's time to go to bed."
You wouldn't even have to go to bed.

If I were in charge of the world,
A banana jelly cake with raspberry twists and milkbottles that had chocolate icing would be a vegetable,
All other people would not beat me in sport,
And a person that sometimes forgot their homework,
And was sometimes late for school or beaten in a race,
Could still b
In charge of the world.
