Connor recieved his Bronze Library Certificate!

Today I was so excited because I got my bronze award for reading!
The books I enjoyed reading most were Tom Gates books, Diary of a wimpy of a kid, Beast Quest , Dynamo, Zac power, Ali baba, The 40 Thieves, Guinness World rRcord books, Ripleys believe it or not, The 36 storey treehouse, The 26 storey treehouse, The 13 treehouse and Bear Grylls. By Connor.

Reading

Room 9 are now taking their own guided reading groups using a set of prompt cards to help them instruct and question the group. In these sessions the pupils are learning to predict, read with fluency, clarify the meaning of words, summarise text and answer questions about the text. Charlie lead the guided reading session today.

Nani's Soccer News.

Congratulations to Nani who is now in the Taranaki soccer rep team.

Nani has written some information about her exciting news below.

 

A few weeks ago I went to Karo Park in Inglewood to try out for the Taranaki Girls Soccer Reps. At first I was really nervous and a bit scared but when the try outs were on I wasn't scared. A few days later, in the middle of the night my Mom looked on the laptop to see if I was in. She woke me up and said I got in! I didn't really know what she meant because I was half asleep. In the morning I was so excited to be in the rep team.

Robbie's Swimming Medals!

Last weekend I went to Tauranga for a swim meet called the Bay Of Plenty Champs with  my swim team called Aquabladz. I took part in 8 races and got 8 medals! 3 were bronze, 3 were silver and 2 were gold! My favourite races were the 200 backstroke(8 lengths) . Written by Robbie.

Interschool Soccer Team Wins!

The interschool soccer team won the final against Woodleigh School on Thursday last week. They are now the proud owners of the tournament shield. The final score was 3-1 to Oakura School. The team would like to thank their fantastic coaches Greg Aylward and Steven Looney.
