AWE Swim Safety 18.11.14

AWE SWIM SAFETY
This week room 9 and 8 have been taking part in the AWE swim safe. It’s been a real fun time working with lots of real good swimmers! Every time you get put into a new group with new people. Our main coach was Ollie, he has been teaching us how to float and how to keep safe in the water and how to swim properly. Over the past week we have made lots of progress in our swimming!

Fun Run!

On friday the 14th of November, the whole of Oakura School participated in the awesome fun run. There were dressup themes for the day so everyone came in costumes which made it very interesting.  There were LOTS of games, like: passing and catching water balloons, obstacle courses, waterslide, and other very exciting activities to experience. It was such a hot day, everybody especially enjoyed going on the waterslide. We were given a refreshing ice-block at the end, which was very nice. Everyone had a great day, and can’t wait until next year!

Diabetes Day

Today was Diabetes Day at Oakura School. We dressed in blue to show our support for those who have Diabetes. Ed did some research at home and told us lots of interesting information he had found it. We then watched the video clip above to learn even more about Diabetes.
