AWE Swim Safety 19.11.14

The year sixes have been going to the aquatic  centre to do a swimming program called AWE. We learn floating and sculling, saving people with a rope and other equipment and we do backstroke and freestyle as well. It’s really fun and we have been going all week apart from Monday. The swimming lesson is fun and will be useful if we are in trouble in the sea.

AWE swimming
This week the year sixes have been learning to swim at the aquatic centre. We get to wear a fluro green rash tops so we can easily be seen in the water. Each day we get put into 3 different groups of eight then we go to our activity and to the next and the next. We have learnt freestyle and back stroke. Room 9 is filled with very talented swimmers and we have had so much fun swimming this week.

AWE SWIM SAFETY
This week room nine and eight have been taking part in the AWE swim safety program.
We have been learning a lot of different techniques and styles. The main things  we have been working on are FLOATING,FREESTYLE and BACKSTROKE. I’m sure that the whole class have really enjoyed AWE and has learnt lots.
