Weta hotel creating at Oakura School
On activity week on a Wednesday room 9 made some weta hotels. First a person from DOC came in (they save the amazing wetas if you did not now). Second we got into groups of four or five. Then we got three bits of rough wood, one had three bits cut out of it. That was the weta’s bedroom and the two others bits were just plain bits of wood cut neatly into rectangles and we got more stuff like bolts, plastic, see through stuff for windows, a staple gun ,hammer, nails and some other things. After getting all the stuff we slowly and for some quickly got building our hotels. Fifth when it was hammered and stapled together Andy drilled a hole right through it. At the end we put a roof on it and my group put sawdust on the roof. Hopefully we save the weta.
